This is pain related to a normal menstruation process and not related to some gynaecological disorder. It affects around half of menstruating people, and it’s quite severe in about 10% of those cases.
The pain most people are referring to during their periods are menstrual cramps.
Unless it’s severe, this kind of period pain isn’t necessarily bad. It’s not good either, but it’s just something that most people put up with, with the help of some home remedies or something like the Livia.
Pain during periods that is caused by a disorder of some kind is known as secondary Dysmenorrhea. This is the bad kind of period pain and requires a visit to the doctor.

There are a number of common reasons why you may experience pain during menstruation. The most common ones is menstrual cramps. Beyond that, there are a few medical conditions as well:

- Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

Is Pain During Periods Good or Bad? Let’s Sum This Up!
If painful periods are caused by menstrual cramps, it’s usually not a big deal. This pain is not good, but it’s not actually that bad either. The exception to this is if they’re very severe and hinder your daily life. In this case, check in with your doctor.
