Why do I have discharge every day?

An Introduction to Vaginal Discharge

Vaginal discharge, at times is a totally normal thing. It’s a healthy way for your body to get rid of fluid and old cells in your vagina. If it’s clear and watery, yellow, or white, doesn’t have chunks in it, doesn’t smell bad and isn’t accompanied by itching or burning, it’s probably nothing to worry about it.

However, there are some times when you’ll want to check in with your doctor about your discharge issues:

  • It’s not clear or white (Green discharge is always a bad sign, and black discharge can a sign of a serious problem)
  • It has chunks in it (often a sign of a yeast infection)
  • The discharge is accompanied by itching or burning
  • It smells bad
  • It happens every day

Keep on reading for some more information about it, as well as why you might have vaginal discharge every day.

Why Do I Have Vaginal Discharge Every Day? Is this Normal?

People have different amounts of discharge. Some people? Almost nothing, except for perhaps a tiny bit around the time that they’re ovulating.

Others? They have vaginal discharge every day, and perhaps lots of it. It’ll also change throughout your lifetime, and within your menstrual cycle.

It might be normal, it might not be. It really depends on what kind of discharge you’re having.

Check in With your Doctor

How to stop discharge everyday? We’re sure you want to know! It might have an easy answer.

The first thing we’ll say about having discharge every day is that you should check in with your doctor about this. It could be a sign of something like bacterial vaginosis, a yeast infection, other vaginal infection, or an STI.

It’s not a big deal to seek help for this. That’s what your doctor is there for, after all, and they deal with this kind of thing every single day. Seriously. Ask any doctor and they’ll tell you they get a ton of visits each day related to menstruation and vaginal health.

Your Vagina Might Be Staying Clean and Healthy

It’s normal to have some vaginal discharge because your vagina is trying to stay clean and healthy! This is not such a a terrible thing, unless it’s in large quantities or smells bad.

Struggle with Daily Discharge

Should I Douche to Get Rid of Discharge?

Please do NOT douche as a way to get rid of your vaginal discharge. It has all kinds of bad effects, and can actually make your situation worse because it throws off the natural pH balance of your vagina and can lead to various kinds of infections.

Vaginal soaps? Same deal here. Just don’t use them, okay? Okay.

Should I wear Pantyliners if I have Vaginal Discharge Every Day?

Pantyliners for vaginal discharge. This is one of those things that seem like it might help. However, like douching, it may actually lead to an increase in infections. This is because your vagina likes to breathe, and panty liners don’t really allow that.

Skip the Underwear at Night

If you have any sort of vaginal infection, or discharge every day, it might be that your vagina needs to breathe a bit. Try not wearing underwear at night, or when working out. Whenever possible basically!

I Have Discharge Every Day and It Smells

If you have smelly discharge almost every day, then it’s likely you have bacterial vaginosis. It’s kind of like the opposite of a yeast infection. In this case, the bacteria in your vagina have become overgrown.

The treatment is very simple, but you’ll have to go to your doctor to get the meds solve your problem of stinky discharge every day.
