How Did You Make this List?
That’s an excellent question and we’re happy that you asked! We follow the same general process for any of the products that we review, whether urination devices, menstrual cups, or period panties. Here’s what we do:
- We look very carefully at the overall user ratings (and total number of reviews) on Amazon. Then, we read all the 3-4 star ratings because they often give the most accurate picture of a product’s pros and cons.
- We see what other bloggers and YouTubers are saying about the product.
- Next, we check out the company website, paying particular attention to the materials in the products and where/how it’s made.
- After that, we get a hold of the FUD by either getting it for free, or paying for it. Either way, it has no impact on our review of the item. We try them out and see which ones are easiest to use, and also compare the size and weight of them.
- Finally, we give you our recommendations for top women’s pee spout!

Check out our quick review of the Top 15 women’s urine funnel options to consider and you’ll find one that will work for you.
What is a Pee Funnel?
Okay, so before we get too far into this, maybe you’re wondering, “What the heck is it?” And also perhaps, “Why do I need to have a women’s pee tool?”
It’s basically a device that allows a women to pee while standing up, kind of like a guy. Pee cups for ladies are kind of a game-changer for all those times when you’ve thought to yourself, “I wish I could pee like a guy!”
2 Styles of FUDs
Styles vary, but the most common one is a funnel shaped one that fits under and around your urethra. You pee into it when standing and then it directs the pee away from you. These ones are reasonably easy to use because you just have to hold them in the general area with two hands. They are however bigger and heavier than the next kind.
Another style is a tube that you fit directly by your urethra, like the Pibella. There is a serious learning curve to these ones and it’s strongly recommended that you practice in the shower first with them. They are very light and compact though and are the perfect choice for backpackers.
Why Consider Using One?
Female Urination Aids can be useful for a number of reasons, including post-surgery (or for other health reasons), for trans people, dirty bathrooms, when camping, or during other outdoor activities.
There are a number of reasons why you might consider using one, but most of all, it’s just fun to pee standing up like a guy!
What about DIY Pee Funnels?
There are some DIY female urination funnel instructions and videos that you can find online. But, these choices for ladies on our list are all quite reasonably priced and it’s often not worth the hassle to make your own.
#1: pStyle Female Urination Device. Best for Camping
Taking top spot on our list is the pStyle Female Urination Device. This women’s pee cup has a unique design in that it’s more like a “trough” than a funnel, but many women seem to love it.
The wide part is big enough, and the design is unique so that it can catch your pee flow without splashing back or spilling over. The horizontal nature of it allows you to easily direct your urine flow more so than the other devices which direct your stream downward.
People (based on Amazon reviews) note again, and again that it was very simple to pee while standing up with the pStyle.
User Review for the pStyle
“Overall, this women pee cup the best of the four devices that I’ve tried. It’s super compact because it’s compressible but it’s still firm enough to not collapse when using it. It also extends far enough out that you won’t pee on your shoes. Just be sure that you get a good seal with your body and you’re good to go.” Jen T
“This is the best women’s pee device that I’ve tried. I have a bladder disease that means I need to pee a lot (when going for a walk on the beach, or on car rides, etc.) The pStyle has been kind of a game-changer for me to help avoid having to squat in the bushes.” Amy N.
User Friendly, but Practice First!
While you should practice a few times in the shower first, the pStyle is very user friendly. Just make sure to hold it in place with two hands.
The pStyle is designed for both women, and trans people who wish to pee standing up. It’s very light in weight, and smaller than many of the other products on this list. This makes it suitable for any time weight and size is an issue such as when backpacking or on a cycling trip.

Taking second spot on our list is this one from Outdoor Life Adventures.
Unlike many other ones, this one has only a single piece. While it is a bit bigger and bulkier than the ones that have a separate tube, this one will work for all body types. Learning to use them is easier than with some of the smaller female urination aids and you should be able to use it correctly within the first couple of times.
By “work,” we mean that it’s reasonably easy for a women to pee standing up with this female urinary diversion device without getting urine all over her pants or shoes. That’s some serious success right there!
With this female urination device, you’ll have to pull down your pants and underwear at least part-way. This makes it NOT an ideal choice for rock climbing or when you’re scuba diving with a front-zip dry suit. However, besides those situations, this one is extremely user friendly.
No More Squatting in the Bushes with this Pee Cup for Ladies!
“I can’t believe I ever went hiking without a woman pee thing. No more squatting down, hoping to not pee all over my pants! It’s super easy to use and I got it from the first time I tried.” Tammy B.
“This female urinary device has a nice size to it, along with a discrete carrying bag. The material in it is great, not too flimsy, but also not so stiff as to be uncomfortable. It didn’t leak at all when I followed the directions to the T.” Yendi S.
Easy to Use, but Practice in the Shower First
This women urination device is big enough that most women will be able to use it quite easily. Or course, you should give it a few practice runs in the shower first before trying it for real out on the road. But for this product, most people were able to use it easily from the first or second time.
We also love how affordable this female urination device is—it’s far cheaper than some of the more expensive options.

- HYGIENIC + PLANET-FRIENDLY: Designed with durable, non-toxic plastic and water-shedding materials,...

- AWARD WINNING: Pibella is the only one of its kind - Swiss developed patented design and hospital...
The Pibella is unique in the world of products that allow women to pee standing up. Unlike the other devices which are funnels, this one is a simple tube. Instead of catching the urine like a funnel does, you have to place the Pibella directly over your urethra.
This unique design allows you to direct the pee stream really easily. It also allows you to pee with just your underwear pushed to the side, which can be an obvious advantage in many situations, such as on mountaineering expeditions, or when working outdoors in winter.
Designed for Use Without Toilet Paper
The Pibella can be used without toilet paper, making it a true, eco-friendly product. The materials in it are water-repellant, so it can be cleaned easily by just giving it a shake.
Overall, the Pibella Women Urination Device is an excellent product, and although the learning curve is a bit steep, people who try it generally love it.
Customer Ratings for the Pibella Female Urination Device
It has some very happy customers, if reviews on Amazon are any indication.
“Once you get the positioning of this female urinal device (not so easy), it’s mostly fool-proof. For some of the other ones I’ve tried, if you have a lot or urine, it can flow over the sides. Not with the Pibella—you can just go for it.” Jessica M.
“My wife has been using this female urine funnel for years when camping, or even in some urban settings too (walks in city parks, etc.). It’s perfect for this kind of thing because unlike most of the other devices, the Pibella doesn’t require you to pull down your pants.” Tommy B.
Steep Learning Curve with the Pibella
Of all the products on this list, the Pibella is the one where some practice in the shower first is absolutely necessary. Most people don’t really have any idea where their urethra actually is so placement can certainly be an issue. But, once you’ve got it, you’ve got it and it’s one of the easiest ones to use.
You can check out our full review of the Pibella Review, or head over to Amazon to buy it today:
Bike Touring with the Pibella
One of the best situations to use a women’s stand up pee device is when biking or traveling. It makes it so easy to pull over to the side of the road and pee, without having to remove your underwear and pants. If there isn’t a tree or something nearby, this kind of makes the ultimate solution!
#4: The Freshette
- A feminine urinary director for camping, traveling and medical needs.
- It allows women to urinate in a standing position.
- Use when restrooms are unavailable or unsanitary.
- Comes complete with director, carrying bag & 6" retractable tubing.
The Freshette FUD is one of the most popular options for women for good reason—it’s an excellent product that works very well for most people. It’s the best one for people who play sports or participate in outdoor activities because it’s so small.
This women’s pee cup is very durable and can be throw into a backpack or glove compartment without worrying that it will break.
The detachable tube makes storage easy because it can pack up very small. The tube also gives you extra freedom to direct the urine wherever you want it to go and not pee on your clothes or shoes.
Excellent User Ratings for the Freshette
Overall, the Freshette Women Urination Device has an excellent design, which is why it has such high ratings from users. Most people who buy this women’s potty funnel are very happy with it.
“This is the best female urination device that I’ve tried so far. It’s a little bit bulkier than some of the other brands, but it doesn’t collapse when you’re using it. It’s not cute or pretty, but it does work and customer support is great!” Heather T.
“I used the Freshette pee cup all summer long for kayaking and canoeing and was impressed. There’s often not a place to hide my butt when on the river, or even in the woods for that matter. It took some practice to learn to pee standing up, but once you’ve, you’ve got it.” Krista M
Expensive, but Perhaps Worth it?
The only thing we don’t love about the Freshette female urinary device is that it’s one of the most expensive devices you can buy. Is it worth it? A lot of people think so, and it is indeed a top-quality product, but there are certainly far cheaper options out there.
If the price was a few dollars cheaper, it’d take #1 on our list.

If you’re a woman who wants to pee while standing up, then you’ll want to consider the SheWee female urinary diversion device. It’s one of the top devices for women and it takes the fifth spot on our list and is one of our top picks for camping.
We love the SheWee because it’s one of the smallest and lightest ones you can buy, and it includes a hard carrying base that makes it perfect for stuffing in your backpacking when traveling or backpacking.
Customer Ratings and Reviews for the She Wee FUD
People comment that it’s quite user friendly, and they really appreciate the optional tube extender, which is very useful in certain situations.
“This women’s pee cup was very narrow, which is what I expected from reading other reviews. But, it’s wasn’t that difficult to use and I only practiced a couple times in the shower before going hiking with it. It was pretty weird to pee standing up at first, but I now love it!” Jane M.
“I’m a dancer and the She Wee has saved me a ton of times during competitions. I have to get into all sorts of crazy costumes that basically require me to be pinned or taped in. There’s no such thing as a quick trip to the bathroom, but this thing makes it way easier and I don’t have to take off so many clothes just to pee.” Dana T.
Affordably Priced FUD
The price is very affordable for this female urinal device, and it can usually be found for a few dollars cheaper than some of the other options on the market. In terms of quality, it’s very similar to the more expensive options out there.
Plus, customer service (including returns) is excellent for this one.
Peeing in the Car
Many people who want to pee in the car while it’s moving have some excellent success with the SheWee. By success, we mean not getting pee all over themselves or the car. Find out more here: Using a Female Urination Device in the Car.
Where to Buy It?
Check out the full SheWee FUD Review for more information about this product. Or, head over to Amazon to buy it today.
What about the PeeBol?
The company behind the Shewee makes another product that you might be interested in, the Peebol. They call it a “pocket sized toilet” and men can pee directly into it, while women can use the Shewee along with it.
The way it works is that the crystals inside the bag form a gel when activated with liquid. It’s an odour free way to collect urine, or vomit from a car sick child. It’s big enough that it can be used twice.
Why Consider Using One?
Some possible uses for the Peebol include the following:
- Peeing in the tent when camping
- Long rides on buses or trains
- Etc., I’m sure you can think of a reason or two for your own situation!
“I love the PeeBol Women’s Urine Funnel. Mostly, I like to use it when I’m camping. I always have to pee at night, but I never want to go outside the tent, and I also don’t want the fuss of using a normal FUD to pee into a water bottle.” Jenny F.

Taking the sixth spot on our list is the Go Girl. It’s made in Minnesota (USA) from top-quality, medical grade silicone (the same material that most menstrual cups are made from).
The price is very reasonable (about half of the more expensive products) for a made in the USA product.
We love that the GoGirl Women Urination Device includes an extender tube, as well as cute carrying case in this price, unlike some of the other ones on the list which require you to pay extra for these things.
Pee Cups for Ladies: Very User Friendly
Most people that use the GoGirl female urinary device seem to get the hang of it easily enough, with a few practice runs in the shower first.
“This thing is super useful after a few beers on the golf course! I actually got it as a gag gift, but it’s come in super handy. It seems like it would fit most body types, even larger people. Just make sure you get a nice seal to your body so you don’t leak all over yourself. It’s a bit of new sensation, but you’ll get used to it quickly.” Naomi A.
“I’ve always wanted to pee in the woods while standing up like a guy, and the Go Girl did the trick for me. It was oh so satisfying and everyone should experience it at least once in their life. It’s seriously a camping game-changer for me. Pro tip: be sure to practice in the shower first.” Raquel S.
This female urinary diversion device is very light in weight, and packs extremely small so it’s perfect for those situations when space and weight is an issue, such as when you’re backpacking or doing a cycling expedition.
Quick Tip for the GoGirl
A quick tip: users have noted that holding the Go Girl urine funnel for ladies in place with two hands works much better.

#7 Travel Jane Disposable Urination Device
In general, we always recommend reusable products over disposables here at Reusable Menstrual Cups because we care about the environment. For example, we hope that people will make the switch from tampons to menstrual cups, and disposable pads to cloth menstrual pads.
That’s why the first disposable one, the Travel Jane (from the Travel John company is so far down on our list. We generally recommend the reusable options instead—they’re better for the environment, and also cheaper if you plan on using them frequently.
Travel Jane Disposable Urinal Reviews
“I love these things for long hikes in the woods where bathrooms are non-existent. The liquid solidifies into a gel quickly and easily and it doesn’t stink. I also bring a couple on road trips with my kids because you just never know.” Tony C.
“This disposable urinal works well. It doesn’t leak as long as you don’t overfill it. Pro tip: don’t wait until it’s ready to gush out of you! Pee at regular intervals instead. It also does a good job at controlling odours if you’re in a car or something.” Bobbi C.
Travel Jane and Travel John: What’s the Difference?
Although the Travel Jane Women’s Pee Cup (from the Travel John company) is disposable, there is some good news in that the Travel Jane can be used more than once. The gel inside the pouch turns pee into a solid within a few seconds. You can keep using the travel Jane until you reach the volume indicator on the bag.
You may be wondering what the difference between the Travel John, and the Travel Jane is. It’s basically nothing of substance. They are the exact same product, just the colour and packaging are different.
Although the Travel Jane (or Travel John) can work for women, they were designed for men, so some people find that the opening is a little bit small.
Otherwise, it’s a decent product, and one of the few options that has a bag attachment, so you don’t have to “direct” your pee. This is where much of the disaster can happen!
Where to Buy the Travel Jane
You can check out our full review of the Travel Jane Disposable Urinal. Or, head on over to Amazon to buy the travel Jane today. Shipping is usually free with Amazon Prime!

#8: Female Urination Device from Thee Home
If you’re a woman who has ever wanted to pee while standing up, then you need to consider a female urination device. They’re perfect for anyone who does outdoor activities like hiking, camping, or cycling.
You might also find them useful if you are on the road a lot, or go to big music festivals where you might not want to wait in line at the bathrooms. Instead, find a tree (just like a guy) and use your women urination device!
Reviews for Thee Home Female Urinal Funnel
From looking at the reviews, you can see that most people who buy the product report that it works. By “works,” we mean that it allows women to pee standing up without getting it all over their legs or shoes.
“I got this one for two reasons: I go hiking a lot on a trail full of poisonous snakes and I also travel to underdeveloped countries. This thing is great for both those problems. I no longer have to stick my exposed butt close the ground, and I also don’t have to go anywhere near gross toilets.” Aicha M.
“I bought this female pee cup to avoid squatting in China just when I wanted to take a pee. It did the trick, and helped me to save my knees some serious anger at me! It helps make the experience so much better. Just take some care to pay attention to where you’re pointing the spout.” Jacy S.
Not Many Details about this Female Portable Urinal
The reason why it’s so low on our list of the best Female Women’s Urinal Funnels is that there is some uncertainty about the product. The description on Amazon is not that detailed, and Thee Home appears to not have a website.
What materials is it made from? Where is it manufactured? We’d love to know! And we’re sure you would too. However, the price is most certainly right, and it’s one of cheapest reusable funnels on the market today.
You can check out the full Thee Home Female Urinal Review, or buy it on Amazon:
#9: P-Mate Female Disposable Urine Director
The P-Mate Female disposable pee funnel is the second disposable option on our list. Here at Reusable Menstrual Cups, we love all things reusable. They’re better for the environment and also far cheaper over the medium to long-term.
However, there are some situations in which a disposable female urination device could be useful. For example, if you’re at a festival or something like that, you may just want to throw it into the port-potty or trash when you’re done with it.
Very Light in Weight
If this is the case, then the P-Mate women urination device is an obvious choice. The other disposable option, the Travel Jane/Travel John is actually a hybrid. It is disposable, but because the gel inside the pouch mixes with liquid and becomes solid, you can use it a few times.
The way the P-Mate female pee cup works is that the funnel is a piece of flat cardboard. You put it into the correct shape, use it and then throw it away. Most people find that it works quite well as the overall rating on Amazon is high.
Customer Reviews for the P-Mate Disposable Urine Director
“These things are kind of amazing and have helped me to avoid so many disgusting porta-potties at sports events or festivals. I love that they’re disposable and that I can just slip it into my pocket. It just takes a little while to get comfortable with them and to not pee on your clothing!” Santi C.
The P-Mate is extremely light, compact and portable and it’s one of the only FUDs that you can easily fit into your pocket.
You can check out our P-Mate review, or head on over to Amazon to pick some up for yourself:
#10 Whiz Freedom Feminine Funnel
Taking the tenth spot on our list of the best female pee funnels is the Whiz Freedom. Overall, it’s not a bad product.
While most women did figure out how to pee standing up with this girl funnel, it was a little less user friendly than other options
The other thing we don’t love about this female pee cup is the price. It’s double the cost of some of the cheaper products on the market that work equally well. It also doesn’t include a carry bag, which you have to purchase separately.
“It seems like it might not work that well in being able to contain the flow volume, but it works like a charm, even from the first time in the shower. It’s a wee bit bigger than some of the other ones I’ve tried, but it actually works well. You just aim and then pee as fast as you want with no problems at all.” Cathy C.
“I have another pee cup for ladies, but this one is better. I never had an error with it, even from the first time that I tried it in the shower. Recently, I peed my name in the snow, something that I’ve always been jealous of guys being able to do.” Jody A.
Works well, but Expensive for What you Get
The Whiz Freedom Women’s Pee Cup isn’t a terrible product. However, it is too expensive for what it is. It’s for this reason that it takes last spot on our list of female urination devices.
You can read our full Whiz Freedom Feminine Funnel review. Or, you can check out the Whiz Freedom for yourself on Amazon. Shipping is usually free with Amazon Prime:

It’s very reasonably priced and most people who try it are pretty happy with it. There are some disposable options that do a similar thing (the Travel Jane), but we love the reusable nature of this one. Save some money while saving the environment at the same tim.
Buy the Gloveleya Female Urination Device
The best place to find the whole range of urination aids is on Amazon. You can check out this one from Gloveleya there:

- Works well if you have a difficult time getting to the bathroom

Gloveleya Female Plastic Urinal Cons

- Some people find that the opening is quite small
The Takeaway on the Gloveleya Female Urinal
If you’re looking for a urination aid that is enclosed and can be used when lying down, the Gloveleya Urinal makes a nice choice. We love the reasonable price, excellent customer ratings and reviews, and the nice design.
There are a huge range of uses for this product, including camping, festivals, road trips, for kids, post-surgery, etc. The sky really is the limit and once you have one, you’ll probably wonder how you lived without it.
The device is made from sturdy plastic, and should last you for years. It’s easy to clean with regular soap or dish soap and water.
Please note that the female version of this urination aid does NOT have a lid. This means that after you pee into it, you’ll have to keep it upright in order for it to not spill. Not a big deal, but it’s something to be aware of.
Sounds awesome, and exactly what you need? It probably is!
The best place to find this portable urination aid is on Amazon. Check it out today:
#12: The Pee Pocket
If you’re looking for a disposable urination device, the Pee Pocket makes a nice pick. It’s very small and folds flat for easy storage.
Just keep it in your pocket or backpack until you need it, pinch it together, use it and then dispose of it easily.
The best part? It’s very reasonably priced, if you buy a package with 24, or 48 units.
2 Main Uses for the Pee Pocket
Where it excels is at music festivals or when traveling. You don’t necessarily want to carry around a reusable urination aid with you in these situations.
However, you also don’t want to deal with gross porta-potties, or public toilets in underdeveloped countries. Carry a few of these things with you to avoid touching a grubby toilet seat and you’ll thank us for the advice later!
Or, check out this video about using it when hiking:

“This women’s urination device is an excellent product and I can’t say enough about it. The major pro is that it works very well and is easy to use, even from the first couple of times I tried it in the shower. The US Army and Female Urinary Diversion Device
When you’re in full combat gear, it can be extremely difficult to take all of it off just to go to the bathroom. There’s often also not a lot of privacy.
In 2013, the US army did some research into a female urinal device that allows women to pee standing up.
This is in response to an increased risk of UTI’s (urinary tract infections) that come with reduced fluid intake, and holding urine for a long time. This is something that many female soldiers do during combat conditions.
However, female urination devices allow for privacy and protection when peeing. The hope is that a female pee cup will become part of the standard issue gear for all female soldiers.
How to Make a Female Urination Device
Okay, so perhaps you’re wondering if you can make your own female urination device? It is indeed possible to do this (see here for directions) with a few tools you may have laying around your kitchen or garage.
However, you will have to buy a few things in order to do this, unless you happen to have a medical spoon and tubing hanging around your house. When you consider how cheap these ones we’ve reviewed are, it may not be worth it.
DIY Female Urination Device
Why Consider One?
There are a number of reasons why you might consider using a female urination device such as the Pibella, or the GoGirl. We’ll outline just a few of them:
If you’ve had foot, knee, ankle, or leg surgery, you might find it quite difficult to bend down and sit on the toilet. You may find it a lot easier to stand up and pee directly into the toilet. That’s where a pee device for females can be useful.
For Trans People
Some trans people may have anatomy that makes it easier for them to pee sitting down on the toilet, but they feel more comfortable doing it standing up.
Maybe this has happened to you? You’re camping, and all warm and cozy inside your tent. You wake up in the night and have to pee, but it’s raining steadily and you’re not quite sure you want to go out there.
You can use a female urination device to pee into a wide-mouthed water bottle (like a Nalgene) and them empty it in the morning.

When Climbing, Scuba Diving or doing other Outdoor Activities
If you’re wearing a harness of some kind like when you’re rock climbing, it can be really inconvenient to have to take it off to pee. Something like the Pibella, or other brand of female urinary diversion device works very well for this because you can just push your underwear and harness to the side easily.
Another situation is if you have a front-zip dry suit for scuba diving. Instead of taking off the entire suit when you have to pee, you can simply use a female urination device to pee standing up.
There are some outdoor jobs where you might not have easy access to bathroom facilities. If there are some trees around, it’s not a big deal.
But, if you’re in a flat location, it can be hard for a girl to get a little privacy. You can use a female urination device to pee way more discreetly.
When you’re Bed-Bound
Lounging in bed, post-surgery, having people bring you snacks while watching TV doesn’t sound so bad, does it? Except that it kind of is when you have to go pee!
However, a female urinary device can make it easier. The key is to practice before you go into the hospital in your bathtub. There is certainly a learning curve, and also remember to keep the spout pointed down.
More details here: How to Use the Shewee When Bed Bound.
There are numerous situations, particularly when traveling in underdeveloped countries where you might be faced with very dirty bathrooms. The last thing you’ll want to do is have anything to do with the toilet seat!
This is where a female urination device can come in very handy. They allow you to pee standing up like a guy and avoid gross situations.
How to Clean It
There are a wide range of materials used to make female urination devices. That’s why you should always follow the directions for your specific brand of women’s pee cup.
That said, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to wash any of them with a mild soap and water when you’re done using them. Be sure to dry your female urinary device off, or let it air-dry before storing it in an airtight container.
Of course, if you use a disposable female funnel, you don’t have to worry about this because you simply throw it in the trash. Easy as that!

Here are a few ideas for how to carry around your female pee device with you on the go:
- In a cargo pocket in your pants
- Any pocket with a zipper or velcro
- Glove box in your car
- Tackle box
- Fanny pack
- Saddle bag
Can I use a Pee Funnel when Sitting Down?
Many people want to know whether or not they can use lady urinary devices while sitting down, most specifically in a car. The key is that the outflow spot has to point downwards.
So, if you can sit on the edge of the seat, and point the end of it downwards, it should work well.
