How to Insert Your Yuuki Cup
Before you try your period cup, do not cut off the extended end or the stem. This makes it easier to grab your cup when you take it out. After you try out the cup and more comfortable with it, you can (but you don’t have to) gradually cut your stem to a length you like or even cut it off completely.
Disinfection
Before your menstrual cycle, it’s crucial to boil your Yukki cup in water for 5 minutes. This disinfects your cup and destroys any bacteria that could have gotten into the cup during storage.
Make sure that you have enough water in your pot of boiling water for your cup. You want the cup to be completely submerged in water so it doesn’t distort at all.
Insertion
Before you insert the cup, make sure you wash your hands and fold the cup. Next, get into a comfortable position, which is usually a squat.
Now, insert the folded cup into your vagina so the bottom of the cup is exactly 1cm from the entrance of your vagina. Once you insert your cup, it will unfold and cling to the vaginal wall. You can unfold your cup by turning it or running your finger around it.
It is easier to insert your cup when it is wet, or you can also use a water-based lubrication gel.
Removing the Cup
Remember that every woman’s flow is different, so it’s not possible to say exactly when to take the cup out. Typically, you should empty the cup every 4 to 8 hours.
Similar to inserting it, the cup is usually easier to remove when you are squatting. To remove it, grab the reinforced bottom of the cup or stem and extract it. Clenching your vaginal muscles can help you remove the cup.
Next, rinse your cup in water and insert it again. If you want to wash your cup with soap, only use neutral detergents.
It really is that easy to use the Yukki Menstrual Cup!
