FleurCup vs Lunette Cup: Head to Head Comparison

Let’s talk FleurCup vs Lunette Cup to help you figure out which menstrual cup is right for you.

It’s a battle of the European made menstrual cups with the Lunette Cup out of Finland, and the FleurCup from France. Overall, both of these popular period cups are made from top-quality, medical grade silicone according to strict standards.

The Lunette Menstrual Cup is far more popular around the world, and you can easily get it via Amazon. There are thousands of positive reviews on Amazon from actual users. Most of the negatives ones are from people unsatisfied with menstrual cups in general, and not this actual product.

However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a better cup. Keep on reading for all the details and to find out if the Fleur Cup, or the Lunette Cup is right for you, and your body type.

FleurCup Introduction

The FleurCup is made in France, and is most popular in that country. While there are people in other European countries who’ve probably heard of this cup, it kind of gets overshadowed by the more popular Lunette Cup (Finland), MoonCup (UK), and Diva Cup (Canada).

We’ll get into more details about the sizing of these two cups, but you could consider the FleurCup if you:

  • Are looking for a very soft menstrual cup. If the firmer cups have caused cramping, you may have better results with this one.
  • Have a very heavy period. The large FleurCup has a capacity of 35 ml, which makes it a nice option; it’s a few ml more than the average of 25-30.
  • Have given birth vaginally multiple times. The diameter is one of the largest for a menstrual cup on the market today. If you’re looking for a “large” menstrual cup, this may be the one for you.

Lunette Cup Introduction

Along with the Lena Cup, Diva Cup, and MoonCup, the Lunette Cup is one of the most well-known menstrual cups in the world. There are thousands of excellent user reviews on Amazon, and a high overall rating. It’s made in Finland from top-quality silicone to strict standards

The Lunette Cup is often the first period cup that people start with because it has an average firmness. Most people find it reasonably easy to insert and remove, but it’s not so stiff that it feels uncomfortable.

It’s so good that many people end up sticking with this sanitary cup for the rest of their lives.

Buy the Lunette Menstrual Cup

Outside of Europe, it can be pretty difficult to find the Lunette Cup in stores. That’s why we recommend checking out  the company’s website first. Prices are very competitive (often cheaper than stores) and shipping is very reasonable (or free!).

FleurCup vs Lunette Cup Sizing

If you take a look at the above chart, you’ll note that these menstrual cups are quite similar to each other. The small sizes are almost identical to each other, with the only difference being the slightly longer FleurCup.

The major difference is the between the large Lunette Cup and the large FleurCup. The Fleur Cup has a capacity of 35 ml, while the Lunette holds 30 ml. This can make a difference if you have a heavy flow and want to go a longer time before removing your cup.

Lunette Cup vs FleurCup: Design

In terms of design, both of these menstrual cups are quite similar to each other. The major difference is the firmness of. The FleurCup is considered to be a “soft” cup, while the Lunette has an “average” firmness.

Many people find firmer cups easier to insert and they’re also better for beginners who might initially struggle with figuring out how to insert it correctly.

There are others who prefer softer cups because they don’t press so strongly against the vaginal canal walls. In reality, the choice is yours!

FleurCup vs Lunette Cup: The Takeaway

You actually couldn’t go wrong with either of these menstrual cups that are made in Europe. They are both made from top-quality materials and have overall positive ratings from actual users online.

The Lunette Cup, however, is far more popular around the world and has way more of these great reviews. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best cup.

However, if you’re a beginner looking for your first menstrual cup, the Lunette makes perhaps the best choice for you! It’s a nice, average firmness that most people find very easy to insert and remove. For whatever reason, it just doesn’t seem to leak for most people. If you’re looking for a painless first menstrual cup experience, you’d do well to consider this one.

But, if you’re looking for a high-capacity menstrual cup, the Large FleurCup might be your best pick between these two. It’s also one of the softer period cup, so you might consider it for this reason.

Aren’t Both These Period Cups Expensive?

Neither the Fleur Cup nor the Lunette Cup are cheap! Both of them are two of the most expensive menstrual cups you can buy. You may be tempted to check out one of the cheap menstrual cups from China that run for $5-10 USD.

We ALWAYS recommend against this for a few reasons:

  • Cheap cups are NOT made from medical grade materials.
  • Manufacturing standards are lax, or don’t exist at all.
  • These cups are so flimsy that they don’t really work that well.
  • Customer service and support is non-existent.
  • You’ll end up buying a top-quality cup later!

You may think you’re saving money, but you’re not. These cheap menstrual cups don’t really work, and in a few months, you’ll either give up and go back to tampons. Or, you’ll just end up buying something like the Lunette.

Also, think about this. A menstrual cup is something that you put inside your body for up to a week each month. Don’t you want the best materials and high manufacturing standards for that product?

FleurCup vs Lunette Cup: Where to Buy

Both of these menstrual cups can be quite difficult to find in stores outside of the countries where they’re made. It’s for this reason that we recommend checking out Amazon first.

You can easily find the Lunette Cup online:

The FleurCup is not easy to find in stores if you don’t live in France. Check it out for yourself over on Amazon:
