Your Guide to the Best Menstrual Cup Brands in the World
If you’re looking for the best menstrual cup brands in the world, you’ve come to the right place! We’re going to preview our top seven menstrual cup brands here at Reusable Menstrual Cups.
In the period cup world, there are two basic kinds of menstrual cups: The good ones that are made by reputable companies, and the very cheap ones from China.
Good Menstrual Cups
There are some top-quality menstrual cups from reputable companies that have been around a long time. These cups are usually manufactured in North America or Europe (see: North American Manufactured Menstrual Cups, or European Menstrual Cups) from the highest-quality medical grade silicone.
These top-quality menstrual cup brands are reasonably priced at around $20-40 and should last you at least a couple of years, if not far longer (see: How Long can I Use a Menstrual Cup?).
Some examples of these good menstrual cups include the following: The Diva Cup, the Moon Cup, the Lunette Cup, the Anigan Evacup, SckoonCup, Ruby Cup, and the Lena Cup. We’ll give more details about all of these cups later on.
Qualities of the Best Menstrual Cup Brands
What should you look for in a menstrual cup? Here are a few things to watch for if you want to buy a top-quality menstrual cup brand:
- Medical grade silicone (most cups), thermoplastic elastomer (Meluna Cup), or latex (Keeper Cup)
- Made in the USA, Canada or Europe. There are a few exceptions, but its a good general rule
- $15-40 USD
- Company website
- Detailed product description on Amazon
- Hundreds/thousands of positive customer reviews on Amazon
Bad Menstrual Cups
These period cups are very cheaply manufactured in China and are often of quite dubious quality. It is most often uncertain whether or not medical grade silicone is used because there is very little product information available.
The companies often don’t have a website and the only place you can find information about them is their product description on Amazon.
Although these sanitary cups are cheap, sometimes even less than $10, we most certainly don’t recommend that you buy them. This is especially the case when you consider that it’s something that you put into your body for up to a week each month. It’s worth spending a bit more money to get a menstrual cup that you can trust.
Now that you have a bit of information about the top-quality menstrual cups vs. the cheap menstrual cup from China, we’ll talk about the seven best menstrual cup brands in the world today.
Top 7 Menstrual Cups Brands in the World
#1 Best Menstrual Cup Brand: The Diva Cup
The Diva Cup is one of the best menstrual cup brands in the world today. The name Diva Cup is almost synonymous with “menstrual cup” in the same way that Kleenex means “facial tissues.”
Based in Canada, Diva Cup is one of the oldest and most established period cup brands in the world. There are thousands of excellent customer reviews on Amazon and a great overall rating.
The Diva Cup a super-solid product made from the highest quality medical grade silicone and it truly is a product that you can feel good about using. It’s one of the best menstrual cup brands in the world, hands down.
There are two sizes of Diva Cup: Small and Large. The small one is for women under 30, or those who have never
If you’re a menstrual cup beginner, you’ll want to consider trying the Diva Cup. It’s an average firmness, which means that it’s easy to insert (it pops open), but it’s also comfortable (doesn’t push so strongly against the vaginal canal walls).
Many people try the Diva Cup for their first menstrual cup, and then end up sticking with it for the rest of their lives. It really is that good!

The size, shape and fit of the Moon Cup is very similar to the Diva Cup, although there are a few small differences (see: Moon Cup vs. Diva Cup for details about the differences between these two popular period cup brands).
There are thousands of happy Moon Cup customer (as demonstrated by reviews on Amazon). It’s so good that many people start with this cup, and then end up using it for the rest of their lives.

#3: Best Menstrual Cup Brand: The Lunette Cup
The Lunette Menstrual Cup is another one of the best menstrual cup brands in the world today.
Based in Finland, the Lunette Cup is an old, established company that has been around for decades. They have a great reputation for making a top-quality period cup that fits well, doesn’t leak and is extremely durable, lasting for years.
Many women who find that the Diva Cup or Moon Cup leaks, try the Lunette Cup and it often works well for them due to the slightly different design.

#4 Best Menstrual Cup Brand: The Lena Cup
Another one of the best menstrual cup brands in the world today is The LENA Feminine Hygiene Cup. Although it’s a relative newcomer to the period cup world, it’s a top-quality menstrual cup at a very reasonable price.
Manufactured in the USA, it has a very high user rating on Amazon. Most women who use it, seem to love it.
The Lena Cup is now available in two firmness options: regular, and sensitive. The regular options is considered to be an average-firm menstrual cup. The sensitive Lena Cup is one of the softest menstrual cups. You may want to consider the Lena Sensitive if you’ve found that the stiffer cups have given you cramps.
The Lena Cup has an excellent reputation for customer service and numerous people on Amazon mentioned that this company goes above and beyond the norm to make sure their customers have a great experience with this menstrual cup.

#5 Best Menstrual Cup Brand: The Anigan Evacup
Next up on our list of the best menstrual cup brands is the Anigan EvaCup. The Anigan Evacup is an excellent product that is manufactured in the USA from the highest quality silicone.
Although it’s a newcomer to the world of menstrual cups, it’s a great product. It’s one of the few menstrual cups to get official FDA approval.
There are a lot of colors, unlike many of the other popular menstrual cup brands out there that come in only one colour, clear. People like having choice!
Perhaps the best thing about the Eva Cup is that it’s often a bit cheaper than some of the older, more established menstrual cups brands.
You may have heard the name Anigan before? They also make a line of period panties, and first period starter kits. We LOVE companies that make a range of feminine hygiene products because, in general, they do it well!

#6 Menstrual Cup Brand: The Ruby Cup
Next up on our list of the best menstrual cup brand is the Ruby Cup. Although it’s one of the most expensive menstrual cups on the market today, there are a few reasons that we love it, but the most important one is the fact that they’re a socially conscious company.
For every Ruby Cup that they sell, either in a shop, or online, Ruby donates one menstrual cup to a person in need. Menstrual cups in the hands of poor people around the world means fewer days of school and work missed.
This means a better education, and more economic power. It really does make a huge difference and we wish that more menstrual cup companies would follow suit.
As far as the actual cup goes, the Ruby Cup is a decent product. Although it’s made in China, manufacturing standards are high and it’s made from medical grade silicone. The firmness seems to work well for most people-it snaps into place pretty easily, but it’s not so stiff that it’s uncomfortable when it’s inside.

#7 Top Menstrual Cup Brands: SckoonCup
Next up on our list of the top menstrual cup brands is the SckoonCup. It’s another menstrual cup that’s made in the USA from medical grade silicone.
The reason why we love the SckoonCup so much is that it’s a very soft cup and feels very comfortable when inside of you. If you’ve found that the stiffer cups pressed strongly against your bladder, or even caused menstrual cramps, then you may want to consider the Sckoon Cup.
Sometimes soft menstrual cups can be a bit difficult to insert. However the Sckoon Cup just kind of opens easily by itself for whatever reason. Perhaps it’s related to the design?
It has some excellent reviews over on Amazon, and most people that try it seem to really love it. If you’re looking for a smaller menstrual cup, consider the SckoonCup (small). It’s much smaller than some of the other menstrual cup brands we’ve already mentioned.
In particular, the small SckoonCup is really quite small and makes a nice choice for someone looking for a smaller cup. The owner of this website (Jackie Bolen) can most often be found wearing a small SckoonCup during your period, despite having tried almost ALL the menstrual cups.
To get all the details about this popular made in the USA menstrual cup brand, you can check this out: SckoonCup Review.

Aren’t these Menstrual Cup Brands Expensive?
A common question that people have is, “Aren’t these menstrual cup brands kind of expensive.” It’s true, most (all?) of them are $20+. But, like most things in life, you get what you pay for.
In this case, you’re getting a top-quality menstrual cup that is made from medical grade silicone. These cups will last for 5-10 years with proper care and cleaning.
Compare this to the cheap menstrual cup brands that you can find on Amazon for $5-10. These cups are usually made in China and are most often not medical grade silicone. If you go to the wholesaler level, you can often find them on Alibaba for $0.10-0.25.
A product that cheap, made from sub-par materials is certainly not something that I’m wiling to put into my own body. That’s why we always recommend sticking with one of the top-quality menstrual cup brands.
Types of Menstrual Cups
Find out about the various types of menstrual cups here!
- Disposable vs. Reusable Menstrual Cups
- Soft vs. Firm Menstrual Cups
- Diva Cup Style vs. Ziggy Cup Style
- Cheap vs. Expensive Menstrual Cups
Let’s get into the finer details about menstrual cup types.
Disposable vs. Reusable Menstrual Cups
The first type of menstrual cup that we’re going to talk about are the disposable vs reusable cups.
Almost all menstrual cups are reusable. All of the top menstrual cup brands that we’ve mentioned above can be used for 5+ years, with proper care and cleaning. That’s why many people buy them—they’re eco-friendly, and can save you a lot of money.
Although they’re not really “cups,” the Instead Soft Cup and Flex Menstrual Disc are your two basic disposable options. They are designed to fit right up under your cervix, and can be worn for up to 12 hours, and then thrown away.
The reason that you might consider either of these disposable menstrual cups is because you want to have non-messy penetrative sex during your period.
Soft vs. Firm Menstrual Cups
The next type of menstrual cup we’ll discuss are the soft vs firm cups.
These days, you have a huge range of firmness options, from very firm (the Keeper Menstrual Cup) to very soft (the Sckooncup).
You may want to use a firmer menstrual cup if you’re a beginner because they are easy to insert. In general, they just pop open when inside you with minimal hassle or fuss.
However, the soft menstrual cups can feel very comfortable and you may want to consider them if you’re more experienced with menstrual cups.
Diva Cup Style vs. Ziggy Cup Style
The last menstrual cup types we’re going to talk about are the traditional ones like the Diva Cup, and the ones that are flat, flexible discs.
The regular cups like the Diva Cup are cone, or funnel-shaped and they sit low in the vaginal canal. They are firm, and cannot be worn during penetrative sex.
However, Intimina has just come out with a new product, the Ziggy Cup. It’s very similar to the Flex Menstrual Disc, or Instead Soft Cup, but it’s reusable. It’s a flat, flexible disc that fits right below your cervix.
Cheap vs. Expensive Menstrual Cups
The last types of menstrual cups we’re going to talk about are the cheap cups vs. the expensive cups.
In general, we always recommend the more expensive, higher-quality menstrual cups. The cheap menstrual cups have a lot of problems, including:
- Made from sub-par materials (not medical grade)
- Lack of information about manufacturing, sizing, use, etc.
- Poor user reviews on Amazon
- Very flimsy and don’t work that well
- No company website
The good news is that these days, there are more high quality cups being sold at reasonable prices than compared to even 5 years ago, when you didn’t have lots of options.
Some of the more affordable, but still high quality brands are the Lena Cup and the Anigan Evacup.
